Greet­ings from the NCADE Exec­u­tive Board! 
On behalf of the NCADE Exec­u­tive Board, I would like to extend an invi­ta­tion for the NCADE Regional Conferences. The con­fer­ences will be held on Fri­day, April 12, 2013 between 9:30am and 1:00pm at the fol­low­ing loca­tions:
Cleve­land Com­mu­nity Col­lege in Shelby, NC (West­ern Region) Wake Tech­ni­cal Com­mu­nity Col­lege in Raleigh, NC (Cen­tral Region) Col­lege of the Albe­marle in Eliz­a­beth City, NC (East­ern Region)
Please feel free to go to the con­fer­ence site near­est to you. A regional map is pro­vided on the NCADE web­site (www.ncade.net). Again, this year, our gen­er­ous ven­dor con­tri­bu­tions have made it pos­si­ble for the con­fer­ence to be free for all atten­dees and lunch will be pro­vided. The con­fer­ence for­mat will be sim­i­lar to last year’s regional con­fer­ences. At each loca­tion, there will be a gen­eral wel­come then two break­out ses­sions: one ses­sion for DMA redesign updates, imple­men­ta­tion, and town hall dis­cus­sions and one for DRE (ENG/RED) redesign with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from redesign task force as lead­ers. Depend­ing on demand, loca­tions may be able to pro­vide a ses­sion for admin­is­tra­tion to receive infor­ma­tion about both redesign efforts in one ses­sion as well.

NCADE hopes that the for­mat of the three con­fer­ences will pro­vide mem­bers with a forum to receive infor­ma­tion, ask ques­tions, and make con­nec­tions with other edu­ca­tors to fur­ther under­stand the redesign efforts. NCADE wel­comes adjuncts, administrators, and cur­ricu­lum instruc­tors to attend as well so we can all move for­ward together.

 Send the attached reg­is­tra­tion form to the appro­pri­ate regional chair pro­vided on the form. This reg­is­tra­tion will pro­vide the site coor­di­na­tors an accu­rate head count for room sizes and the num­ber of lunches needed.

We have sev­eral posi­tions on the NCADE Exec­u­tive Board that are/will be avail­able. Some of these posi­tions must be elected by the mem­ber­ship before the fall con­fer­ence and some that are appointed posi­tions. Also, the award nom­i­na­tion dead­line has been extended to April 1. This year’s annual NCADE con­fer­ence will be merg­ing within the North Car­olina Com­mu­nity Col­lege Sys­tem con­fer­ence. The con­fer­ence will be held in Raleigh on Octo­ber 7 — 9. There will be sev­eral ses­sions relat­ing to Devel­op­men­tal Edu­ca­tion and all the redesign efforts. There will be a break­fast and busi­ness meet­ing on Tues­day, Octo­ber 9. There will be more infor­ma­tion going out to the mem­ber­ship about the break­fast very soon. Please plan to attend this unique experience.
